Colors may vary as seen in the photos. Concrete ties are common on today’s railroads with welded rail. Our new innovation to 3D Print sections of roadbed for the model railroad pike will impress the visitors to your pike modeling modern day mainlines. The base with the shoulder for ballasting profile, the concrete ties sit on top of the 3D print support structure rising up from the build plate in support of the cast concrete. The build plate support structure does not need to be removed. The straight sections are fixed and not flexible for curvature.

Code 148 rail (not included), such as the Micro-Engineering brand, slides into the rail tie plates. The ends of the rails should be slightly filed to a point such that the rail slides across the tie plates easily. The length of each section measures 8.5″ and for each 3′ length the roadbed can be spot glued in place. Ballast can then be applied and the concrete tie profile has the same appearance one would observe on the prototype. The entire roadbed structure is made up of 2 composite materials.  As seen in the photos item is printed in various colors.

Photos demonstrate what many plates combined look like with example of what the SW 1500 Switcher (sold separately) looks like on tracks .

Sold as is straight off the Prusa Printer plate all sales final no returns. PLA is not dishwasher safe and may deform in a hot automobile in the summer time as it has a relatively low glass-transition temperature between 50 and 80 °C and a melting temperature between 170 and 180 °C.
