We are in production now. Lead time may be 3-4 weeks depending on demand; however, you can purchase now.
If you are looking to restore an F7 or F9 with a new floor, chassis, fuel tank, mounts and platforms you have come to the right place.
We have received many requests to develop a replacement chassis for these O Scale F units given the engine body or shells are so prevalent. However, what holds modelers up from upgrading these or to bring them back to an operational level is the lack of infrastructure to accommodate re-powering these locomotives. We hope these parts give modelers optimal configuration opportunities to restore this equipment and get the models back on the layout.
Engine body infrastructure comes with the chassis that fits and mounts easily for servicing the engine. Can be used as an unpowered or multiple motor implementations. The chassis mounts to the cage structure. The framework mounts in the body and the chassis mounts to the internal frame. Fuel tanks are either printed on the chassis or separate for later attaching to the chassis.
Plenty of options for the modeler to restore and rehab these old engine shells. The form factor for both the Atlas F9 and P&D F units are identical, consequently these parts can be used in either version. There is only the one cage form factor but multiple chassis floors to choose from. There is the plain floor with just the opening for mechanism with or without the fuel tank printed on the frame. Then there is the floor that is a facsimile to the original Atlas chassis.
And last, the chassis with the cut away for use with the All Nation Platforms Part Number 251AN for easy mounting the All Nation Blomberg trucks. This information is all depicted in the video. So that the chassis can be mounted to the cage structure, pilot holes align starting with pre-installing the chassis to the floor prior to inserting it into the engine body. If 2-56 screws are used, the chassis needs clearance holes drilled and the cage structure needs to be drilled and tapped. Clearance holes require number 42 drill bit while a number 50 bit for the tap hole. Alignment of the first 2 holes should be done starting at the front or nose end of the engine. We do not ship screws with these parts, the screw type is left for the discretion of the modeler.
