\"\"<\/a>This weekend \u2014 May 23, 2026<\/strong> \u2014 we rolled into one of our favorite kinds of adventures: a visit to the Tobyhanna Train Station Open House<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, hosted by the Pocono Rail Historical Society (P.R.H.S.)<\/strong> right here in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the moment we stepped inside, the place was filled with that perfect mix of history, community, and pure model\u2011railroading joy.<\/span><\/p>\n

We shot a handful of short videos of the layouts (you\u2019ll see them below!) and had the pleasure of meeting Anthony MacPhee<\/strong>, President of the P.R.H.S. Anthony couldn\u2019t have been more welcoming \u2014 he gave us a fantastic tour and shared stories that brought the station\u2019s past to life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udee4\ufe0f Layouts, Countless Stories<\/span><\/h3>\n

The museum features the local HO club model train layouts.<\/strong> One of the highlights is their beautifully detailed model of Tobyhanna in the 1940s<\/strong>, complete with the charm and grit of the era. It\u2019s the kind of layout that makes you lean in close and say, \u201cOh wow\u2026 look at that<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfdb\ufe0f A Station With a Past<\/span><\/h3>\n

Hearing about the history of the Lackawanna Railroad Passenger and Freight Station<\/strong> was a treat. Originally a working station, it was transformed into a museum in the late 1990s \u2014 and you can feel the care that went into preserving it. The building itself is a piece of living history.<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udee0\ufe0f Artifacts, Oddities & Railroad Treasures<\/span><\/h3>\n

Beyond the layouts, the museum is filled with fascinating railroad artifacts \u2014 tools, signage, equipment, and pieces of the region\u2019s railroading past. We snapped photos of several items that rail fans will absolutely love.<\/span><\/p>\n
