Consequently, we felt it was well worth the effort to build out a custom power and drive mechanism to make it operational for heavy duty yard work switching. The drive features AAR Type A sprung trucks with pick ups on all wheel sets for 2 rail layouts. The motor is an Amtek-Pittman 30 vdc high torque to a single truck chain drive transmission. The chain tension is also adjustable if tuning it is needed in the future. Included with the model is a bell and hanger set and Allen key for the universal set screws for servicing the mechanism.
