After doing our series of videos on the 3 Rail to 2 Rail conversion for Lionel ALCO S2 switcher locomotives, modelers were interested in our implementation for the non-powered truck under the cab end of the engine on the single truck drive. Consequently, it seemed practical to provision this kit with the parts to make this conversion for model engines not required to be powered by the modeler. To save time and money, the Blunt die cast sideframes are used from the original 3 Rail truck implementation. <\/span><\/p>\n

The modeler will have to trim the brim from the 3D print parts and any threads to fit the brackets into the bolster saddle holes so they rotate slightly and easily. The holes to mount the bracket to the sideframe will also need to be tapped for a 2-56 screw before assembly. When assembling, be sure the wheel sets are put into the journals with both insulated wheels on the same sideframe side.<\/span><\/p>\n
