#3049 is a machined part found in All Nation kits for box car construction used in the center sills and for mounting the truck bolster to the under body. The block is 4.75mm x 4.75mm by 9.5mm with the approximate square length 6.5mm while the round rod outside diameter is 2.10mm and tapped all the way through for a 3-48 machine screw. Typically, floors supplied with the kits were wood and the round portion was inserted into the floor from the underside and mounted with a short screw from the inside of the car. The center sill would be positioned in place before inserting the block into the hole in the floor and lock into the sill sides. Once secured and other construction work completed, the trucks could be mounted with another short 3-48 screw and tightened against the screw coming from the top side.
