For Sale:  All Nation Line Concrete Tie Mats (4 Mats, 7-5/8″ length 16 ties each) PN#245AN

Rail, spikes and wood bed are not included (for reference photos only).

For Sale: For a modern profile roadbed, the concrete railroad tie is something you will not see on many O Scale 2 Rail layouts. Until Now! The Concrete Tie Mat is for the modeler that is hand laying track on the layout. The ties are 3D Printed using PLA plastic on a thin layer of plastic as a mat to make installing the ties on the straight away fast and easy. Because the spacing has already been taken care of, each mat of ties can be glued down where each section is butted up against the last. There are 16 ties per mat and the ties are designed for Code 148 rail only. There is a slight depression centered for guidance with centered holes under the rail in case the modeler wishes to temporarily pin the section for alignment when gluing. On either side of the rail are tiny holes in the ties for spiking the rail in place. Yes, I know that concrete ties have a variety of patented mounts in the prototype, but for now I have settled on using the trusty old medium size spike with a rather elongated head. And with this configuration, the track gauge is very stable.

Once the track is spiked down, the modeler can paint or weather the ties followed by the application of ballast. The overall effect is to achieve the profile of a concrete tie roadbed. The concrete ties can be purchased individually without any mat under them for developing your spiral or radius curves. And when completed, you will have one heck of a straight piece of track or use single ties to deviate your roadbed just like the prototype.

Sold as is straight off the Prusa Printer built plate, all sales final no returns. PLA is not dishwasher safe and may deform in a hot automobile in the summer time as it has a relatively low glass-transition temperature between 50 and 80 °C and a melting temperature between 170 and 180 °C
