Reintroduction of the All Nation CB&Q Caboose aka Waycar kit in O Scale 2 Rail. These kits are a more advanced version of the original kits put out by All Nation in their hobby shop years ago. Re-engineered, for the best realism of the prototype, modelers may find it more challenging to put together. On the other hand, a consequence of the re-engineering, a modeler now has a whole host of other options and enables the modeler to innovate like never before.Â
Â
Many railroads had the western style cabooses and while the general construction was similar over a good number of years, the old wooden waycars had unique features from road to road both within interiors and exterior appearances. For the modeler that wants to add a good amount of detail, our comprehensive kit comes with a larger sub-assembly of detail parts. Our basic kit has fewer detail parts as modelers may already have what they need in the way of detail parts or it is a great beginners kit.Â
Â
Options available to the modeler include detailing the interior (see our Comprehensive Kit List below). Roads other than CB&Q can be modeled simply by swapping out the car sides. For example, we have the CB&Q with baggage doors and the C&NW car sides with baggage doors. We have sides for the CGW Caboose sides, too. More sides will become available in the future.
General assembly instructions can be seen in this video that I made several years ago. This video may help you decide on your purchase. The video at the bottom of this description, provides a discussion and a little background and instructions on how I have gone about to build these kits.
Although, I still like Walther’s Goo for certain applications. Goo should not be used on the FLEX skins in this kit. Information on painting is plentiful on the web however Acrylics work well also.

Most of the parts in this kit are PLA, roof skins are FLEX 98A and some parts for the cupola are cast. Sold as is straight off the Prusa Printer built plate, all sales final no returns. PLA is not dishwasher safe and may deform in a hot automobile in the summer time as it has a relatively low glass-transition temperature between 50 and 80 °C and a melting temperature between 170 and 180 °C.
