About this product:

The development of this product has gone through many iterations of CAD work, test printing, materials, as well as differing hold downs or clips. Railroads that use concrete ties have a wide choice of mounting hardware from manufacturers, and at scale tends to be very tiny and delicate. Consequently, we modeled this after a Nable Clip because it seemed to be the most practical cost wise and to print. The profile of the tie plates has a tight tolerance, making it somewhat stiff to slide the rail. However, this tight fit is preferred so that the rail head does not shift or lean to the left or right as it would if the clips did not hold it tight at the rail web base.

Additionally, at the present time, this track only accommodates Micro-engineering Code 148 rail. Testing was not done with other rail brands, sizes or even used pieces. As we gather more customer feedback and suggestions, we will develop the ties for turnouts and probably even Proto48. The ties are printed with 100% Infill and there is no need to drill holes to spike it down to the roadbed. These tracks may be printed in PLA or ABS depending on what filaments we have in stock.

Please enjoy this instructional video where I will demonstrate various aspects of this flex track.
