Over the years of doing maintenance on my own fleet of O Scale 2 Rail engines, or even updating the drive mechanism, I consistently found lacking in my parts various drive shaft components. I have converted an engine with a single drive unit to a double and come up short lacking the rod either in brass or steel to finish the project. Or, having a piece of rod that was to short to do the job.
This is a collection of rod material for others in the same situation. I personally like to have all metal drive shafts, shaft couplers and universals to take the torque and wear and tear that I subject my engines to on the layout.
