About this product:
The original stock had ties with tie plates cut into the wood which was designed for Code 172 rail, a common installation found on layouts in the early days of O Scale model layouts. This stock has been planed down so that its repurpose for hosting Ready-Lay track gives a good foundation and profile once ballast is applied. Some pieces may have split off corners but are minor because ballast will hide it or they can be trimmed square back a little ways from the end. The wood is perfect density (likely a yellow cedar) for spikes to hold down the track. Alternately, modelers can glue down their own wood ties and hand lay the track for a realistic roadbed.
Great for building modules.
