Newly made: Handcrafted Transmissions
Custom installation for intended use in a dual powered model O Scale diesel engine. Implemented with our famous helix geared power truck transmissions in a fully sprung brass Alco truck configuration. With 40″ wheel sets and PTFE journal bearings, this should be a smooth running mechanism. Included in this sale is the New/Old stock 38.2vdc Pittman double shaft motor with drive shaft rod and 4 universal joints that MUST be “In Phase” when assembled. The smaller 3×3 brass universals attach to the tower drives and can also be JB Weld (glued) to the top tower drift shaft, this at the discretion of the modeler. The top tower drive shaft can also be minimally shortened if necessary if more clearance is required from the king pin. The extra 2-56 mounting hole on the bolster is to accommodate mounting electrical pickup wipers on the wheels if needed. Wipers are not supplied with this sale.
All transmission components are new and the mechanism is designed to be serviceable if the need arises in the future. Lubrication and break in of the mechanism is recommended after final assembly into a locomotive.
