For Sale: All Nation Ball Joints With Rod PN#4090-4091

The ball joints were used early on coupling connections between the motor and the tower drives on the All Nation engines. #4091 measures approximately 9/16″ long and has a inside sleeve diameter of 3/16″ and was used with a rod to connect to the upper tower drive shaft that was square. The ball end with the pin faces the motor shaft. Later models of the transmissions had the upper shaft machined in one piece and the 4091 was no longer required. However, the very early transmissions with square hole accommodated a part that was essentially a flexible speedometer cable. Again, this implementation has been discontinued however it is still found on the older legacy transmissions.

#4090 the longer ball joint was used on the motor shaft or drive shafts used on the transmission worm geared shafts. The length was approximately 3/4″ with an inside sleeve diameter of 5/32″ to slip over the end of the motor shaft. This was a more common implementation where a piece of fiber tubing connected the ball joint on the motor shaft to the ball joint on the tower upper transmission shaft.

When we discontinued the use of the speedometer cable connection and opted for the 2 ball joints, a plastic slotted tube was used to make the final drive shaft connection from the motor shaft to the driven shaft on the tower.
