All-In-One motor onboard of power truck transmission is not targeted to any specific locomotive or brand. Rather its development is solely to give modelers another implementation option for powering an engine whether scratch built, 3 rail to 2 rail conversion etc.
Using a small Pittman 12 vdc motor that sits atop of the small gear box, the motor shaft connects with a universal joint and transfers power to the top tower drive shaft with our helix gearing sending power to the axles. Mounting is not that dissimilar to O Scale traction power truck mounts and can be fixed to the under body of the engine. Compact as it is, we have left the lower drive shafts long if power take off to another truck is desired. These shafts can be cut short upon installation but again it gives an option and choice for various use cases.
This has been tested on treadmill bearings and is for light duty operation. The axles are supported with ball bearing in the journals for less resistance and roll free operation. The entire mechanism is assembled with future maintenance in mind if required after years of operation. The motor is supported in a tight loop harness such that it can be adjusted facing the tower drive shaft.
