For Sale: All New Barber S2 Freight Truck (Kit) by All-Nation.
I have been in the process of scratch building in brass and plastic a set of Oil Cans, that is Tank Cars as ordered from ACF by the Chicago Great Western Railroad for my model railroad. I needed freight trucks and so the more modern equipment on railroads had the 70 Ton and 100 Ton roller bearing trucks. I set out to make my own.
Once assembled, you will have 1 pair of trucks to put under your modern box, flat, bulkhead or tank cars. The sideframes and bolsters are 3D Printed with ABS plastic.
The parts list is as follows:

2 Bolsters
12 Truck Springs
8 brass bushings (optional journal inserts)
8 ball bearings 2 x 5 x 2.5 (optional journal inserts) instead of the brass bushings
4 36″ Wheels small hole
4 36″ Wheels large hole for axle insulator bushing
4 plastic axle bushings to insulate the large hole wheels
4 standard All-Nation axles
Suggested Instructions for assembling this kit are captured in a video on my website. Written instructions are not included with this kit.
This kit may not be for the beginner modeler. If you have never installed wheels onto axles before, this kit might not be for you. However, we do have a simplified tool kit for pressing wheels onto axles. We developed the 3 piece tool set in our shop and precision printed these requiring only a 3.5 inch vice to press the wheels on the axle to the correct NMRA standard gauge. It should be noted here that bearings if used should fit snug into the journals, axles ends should fit snug into the bearing and wheels should be relatively hard pressed onto the axles.
When completed if using the ball bearings in the journals, these trucks roll better than anything else on the market. Because we ship these plastic parts directly from the 3D printer build plate, some clean up and removal of build support material will be required.
Sample photos show an assembled truck and wheels mounted on axles for illustration purposes only and are not included in this kit. The Wheel compression tool kit is not included with this kit. It is sold as a separate item for $14.95.
All plastic parts are sold as is straight off the Prusa Printer built plate, all sales final no returns.
