Introduction To O Scale 2 Rail- Beginners 41′ Flat Car Kit
If you are a brand new modeler to the O Scale hobby of model railroading, this is the starter kit for you. This is the most basic and minimalistic kit on the market today. 3D printed and replicated from original Zimmer Scale Models All Nation reference castings, the cost of entry into O Scale here is minimal and a great way to find out if this is the scale for you.
While this type of flat car was used by many roads and would have been found in large quantities in their day on the B & O, L & N, M P, and P R R etc. it would be up to the modeler regarding what trucks to install on this car. Thus, a period history of trucks from the 1900s through the 1940s is a good indication or reference depending on what years your model railroad is representing as well as the road.
Basic assembly of given parts requires removal of brim and thread support materials from around the edges of the parts and some minor filing to clean up the line work and corners where appropriate. CA glues works fine for mounting the underframe and sides to the car floor.
Note: Turning the car floor upside down on a flat surface to glue the sides is slightly elevated and so be careful to make the top edge of the car side flush with the top side of the car. Moderate clamping is recommended until the glue sets. The bolster king pin holes can be sized and tapped for mounting the trucks.
These kits may be printed in PLA, ABS or PETG of various colors, depends on what filament we have in stock and mounted in our printers.
