For Sale: Newly Minted 33″ Wheels and Axles for O Scale 2 Rail. This kit is unique because the axles were machined from the original Varney drawings used by All Nation dated 11/6/1945 to the exact specifications on the blueprint. The wheels are also machined exactly to the original Brockway blueprints. Wheel part #1354 & #1353 axle diameter 0.130 and 0.186, respectively. The axle ends are not tapered to a needle point. The modeler will have to supply the insulator material for each wheel set assembly. A plastic straw cut to 4.75mm in length and 4.75mm OD works well to insulate the wheel.
We manufactured these wheels and axles during the week of 9/15/2021 using high grade steel to quality standards so your freight and caboose trucks roll smoothly on your railroad layout. Wheel width and tread profile to RP-25 NMRA gauge standards as well. We have not sent the wheels out for further finish manufacturing such as bluing, plating or any other color die processes to change the look of the steel. This gives the modeler the option to apply their own weathering treatment, rust or grime for the exact desired finish.
This kit is not intended for the beginner. However, we would not discourage anyone from trying their hand at assembling the wheel sets. We recommend you view my video that has suggested instructions on how I go about mounting wheels on axles using my Wheel Press Tool #3816T.
