At All Nation, we are using a wide variety of motors to power our 2 Rail O Scale engines as well as developing custom mounting platforms. Designed to be used in older legacy models as well as new product, our intention is to give modelers many options to do retrofitting or upgrading their fleet of motive power. Most of our specifications on the dimensions also favor the use of our power truck transmission drives and gear units connections.
We hope this makes it easier to implement and install new motors in a wide variety of equipment, whether that is in a traction model, Doodlebugs, or converting to 2 rail or upgrading a dummy unpowered locomotive.
This motor is a heavy duty reduced gear single shaft design. The top rotational speed is 600 RPM for those slow running switcher yard engines to give a realistic performance moving cars around, building trains or transfer work. The motor shaft is off center because of the gearing and gives flexibility for connecting to our tower drives in custom implementations and configurations. Our chain drive tower drive with 1:1 16 tooth sprockets is a recommended configuration.
