As part of our series to convert a Lionel Alco S2 dummy switcher engine to 2 rail, we developed an easy to assemble motor mount that just snaps into position centered under the hood and mounts to the floor with 2 screws. The threads are already cut into the mounting studs on the frame. The motor is approximately 30mm in diameter and can be connected up to our power drive transmissions in either the default Blount Truck sideframes of utilized with our AAR Type A truck for an S4 model of the engine. The motor mount is also available from us without the motor such that any generic motor can be used however the motor face plate will need pilot holes drilled in the correct location for your particular motor since the screw hole position can be different from one brand of motor to the next.
