The basis of this kit is an original Megow body casting. The partial build out of this car included enhanced 3D Printed sides, much improved in detail from the original separate castings as well as ends. The textured flooring is representative of well used wooden decks on flat cars. Any number of loads can be modeled on this type of car from logs to sheet rock between bulk ends.
A unique feature on this flat car is our new method of mounting the Andrews trucks. This is exactly the same that we developed for the ACL Whopper Hopper American Steel Foundries trucks utilizing a 3D Printed FLEX TPU filament that makes removing or mounting the truck to the car body a breeze. Essentially this is a bolster clamp that stays centered on the king pin and can be opened with the tip of a finger to release it since the TPU has moderately stiff elasticity.
The links to the older drawings, blueprints and instruction sheet are for reference purposes only and are not intended as correct procedures for assembly. The way to go about the build is up to the modeler.
